Statement of Purpose of REAM

Represent all school retirees, present and future, certificated and classified.

Educate and inform all school personnel on matters related to the improvement of their economic and social status.

Assist and work to strengthen local and regional units in every way possible.

Monitor the actions of, and cooperate with, the legislature, all governmental units, and other organizations which deal with present and future retired school personnel.
 

Did You Know?

REAM has grown from 4,800 members in 1982 to a current membership of over 9,500 members.

TRA’s pension fund became fully funded at the end of fiscal year 1997, 23 years earlier than expected.

REAM has established an excellent relationship with other retiree organizations believing that a united front is necessary when talking to legislators.

REAM sponsors a statewide convention each fall offering seminars on a variety of topics.

REAM sponsors two special awards each year – REAM Educator Award and the John Moriarity Government Involvement Award. Nominations are made by individuals and local units.
